Jump Higher With Vertical Leap Exercises

How Jump Higher

is proud to present to you some good exercises and tips to increase your vertical.

IMPORTANT: These exercises should be thought of as being similar to lifting weights. Start out slowly and only do maybe 20 repetitions of each exercise MAX per day. Slowly build up from there. If you were getting into weightlifting you wouldn’t start at 400 lbs., now would you?  It should be no different for learning how to jump higher.

Jump Rope - If you are in the sport of basketball and have ever attended a basketball camp or clinic they probably made you jump rope for “warm up.”  It not only helps warm you up, it also improves your vertical.  I’d recommend doing this daily, for at least thirty minutes.

Deep Knee Bends - Start standing straight up. Then bend at the knees slowly while keeping your back straight. Keep bending at the knees until you are as low as possible without any pain. Slowly stand back up again.

Deep Knee Bend Jumps -  These are similar to the deep knee bends, except when you begin to crouch down and get low, move quickly, getting as low as possible.  Then push out and leap upwards as high as possible.  Almost like you are trying to “takeoff.”  Do this repeatedly.  When you land from launching yourself upwards, go immediately back into the crouch and explode upwards again.

Toe Raises - Stand up straight and then push up onto your “tippie toes.”  Come back down to flat-footed.  Do this in a slow, steady motion.  I’d recommend repeating it about 40 times at first, then build up to around 70-85 after a few weeks of doing the exercise.  Bonus Tip - After doing these for a few weeks, try adding some small weights (ankle weights would be best if you have them.)  The weights will help immensely.

In Action Simulation - If you can jump high from standing still that is all good and well, but you also want to ensure that you don’t need a lot of “prep” to get yourself up.  When doing these exercises, also try to keep in mind that you will need to jump higher in competition.  Try to simulate it as much as possible, until you get to the point where you can leap higher without having to really think about it.

Recommended - Another great resource which I recommend and used personally (you can read my story here) is the Vertical Explosion Manual.  It is guaranteed (with 100% money back) to vastly improve your vertical quickly. Give it a shot; there is no risk and you have nothing to lose…I really think you’ll love it!

Thanks for reading guys…hope this helps you learn how to jump higher!

How To Jump Higher

December 26th, 2009

This is my story about learning how to jump higher and how I was able to rapidly and drastically increase my vertical by an insane 41 inches.  To go directly to the website of the product I used, click here.

Hi.  Joe here.  If you are reading this it is my guess that you are struggling with your vertical jump, probably in a sport such as basketball (as was my case) or volleyball.  You more than likely want to learn how to jump higher.  Well,  let me start off by being blunt with you.  I am not tall. At all.  I’m 5′7″ and didn’t have much of a vertical jump.  I was told time and time again that I was too short to play competitive basketball; that the other players would easily out jump me for rebounds, to shoot over me, or to block my shot.  I knew there was no magical pill that I could take which would suddenly make me 6′6″ and tower over the competition, or show me how to jump higher, so I thought I was sunk and that the naysayers were right.  In thinking this way, I was DEAD wrong!

On a whim I decided to do a quick Google search for “how to jump higher”, and other variations, such as how jump higher, looking for some possible exercises and training programs which might help me improve my vertical.  I was desperate. I love the game of basketball and I was determined to make my high school varsity team and prove everyone wrong.  I knew there were smaller basketball players, and not just players, but real NBA  stars!  The rest of my basketball mechanics (shooting, dribbling, defense) were pretty sound, but at 5′7″ I really wasn’t much of a threat to anyone, and the coaches of my high school team knew that.

Beginning in May of 2007, I decided that I was going to learn how to jump higher and improve my vertical.  Somehow, someway I was going to jump higher than anyone else. It became my obsession.  I bought weights for my sneakers and wore them everywhere, especially when practicing in my driveway.  I did some generic jumping exercises I found online.  I worked and worked and worked.  Every morning at 7 AM I was out in the driveway, desperate to improve my jump.  After months of this my vertical had improved, but by less than an inch.  At 5′7″ that was NOT going to cut it.

And that is when everything changed….

I continued my online searching, knowing that there had to be something out there that could show me how to jump higher!  Eventually I found it, but there was one problem.  It cost $495 dollars!  I didn’t have a job (I was only 15!) and didn’t think my dad would go for 495 bucks…and I was right.  For days I begged him - I knew this was the answer for me and offered him everything I could think of if he’d just buy it for me.  He refused.  Again, I thought I was sunk!

Then on my birthday - June 30,2007 my life changed forever.  By this point I had given up on getting the instruction and coaching I’d found online and had pretty much forgotten about it.  Well, I got the greatest surprise from my father when, after blowing out the candles on my 16th birthday cake he revealed to me that my birthday present was the how to jump higher training!  Apparently they had lowered the price and this inspired my dad to finally buy it.  I was THRILLED!!!

I immediately went to work learning how to jump higher with this program.  I used the nutrition plan, videos and workout schedule provided.  After a week, I was actually practicing and working out less than before and my vertical was EXPLODING!!!  After two weeks I had gained 7 inches on my vertical and was getting close to touching the rim!

I continued with the exercises and workout routine and by September….I COULD DUNK!  Not every time, mind you - dunking is very tough!  But one in about every ten times I tried, I could do it.  It was absolutely unbelievable.  When I went out for the team in mid September, the coaches were floored. They begged me to tell them how I did it, and how I did it so fast - and I wouldn’t do it! I worked hard to gain that vertical (and spent money!) and I wasn’t going to give away the secrets for them to tell the whole team.  If everyone else knew how to jump higher and had an insane vertical, I’d be right back where I was in the first place…I wouldn’t be unique!

Selfishly, I kept the secret to myself, telling the coaches that practicing basketball and jumping a lot all summer had yielded these amazing results.  Honestly I don’t think they believed me, but it didn’t matter.  Not only did I make the team, but I was a starter.  I won nearly every jump ball I took and became almost a playground legend with my vertical leap.

I’ve just recently started college and I’m now more interested in pursuing academic achievements rather than basketball, so I’ve decided to finally let everyone know exactly what I did to obtain my ridiculous vertical, but only online - only to those who are in the same position I was in, desperately searching for an answer and really looking to discover how to jump higher!

That’s my story.  I didn’t become an NBA star, but I never really wanted to.  I just wanted to learn how to jump higher, make the team and prove everyone wrong.  And I did it!

UPDATE - The price of the program I mention in this post has been drastically reduced and they have added an unreal guarantee: they will pay you $100 CASH if you do not rapidly increase your vertical!! You can read about it in this post I made. (A big thanks to Eric for e-mailing me about the price cut!)

Hi guys, Joe here.  I’ve had this site up for a little while now and I’ve been sharing my experince with you using the Jump Manual to make my vertical literally explode.   Well, I just got an e-mail from a reader (thanks Eric!) who says that my previous post on the Vertical Explosion Manual is wrong….they have now seriously lowered the price for a limited time! Basketball

September 1st, 2009

The one sport in which you really need to know how to jump higher is basketball.  More than any other sport, basketball players rely on their vertical leap to grab rebounds, shoot baskets and dunk the ball.  Many basketball players are blessed with the natural ability of jumping higher, while others have the genetics which makes them much taller, and they are able to tower over the competition.  The best basketball players often have a good combination of the two.  Michael Jordan, who some consider to be the greatest basketball player of all time, was not particularly tall for a basketball player, is about average height for the sport.  But he is a guy who worked extremely hard not only at basic basketball mechanics like shooting and dribbling, he also spent a lot of time learning how to jump higher.

Michael was not only known for his eye popping dunking abilities and three point shooting, he was also a sound defender and rebounder.  He was able to defend and rebound well due to his vertical leap.  Jumping higher is not something that generally comes naturally.  Often the highest jumpers are the ones who have spent years properly toning the right muscles in their legs to increase their vertical.  Those who are born with a natural jumping ability would be wise to learn how to properly train their muscles.  Since they already have a great vertical leap, learning how to jump higher would make them completely dominant in the game of basketball.

How To Jump Higher

Vertical Explosion Manual Review

August 30th, 2009

Hi everybody, since I’ve recommended Vertical Explosion to everyone who searches for how jump higher and who wants to improve their vertical, I figured I’d give a full review of the program here.

If you do not want to read the review and already know you want this product, click here.

If you’ve read my story, you already know that this is a fantastic product which is guaranteed to vastly increase your vertical and show you how to jump higher.

Now when I bought the program, it cost $129, and for me it was absolutely worth every penny.  However, as you can see in my update, they have now drastically reduced the price.  I do not know how long the price will be reduced for, so if you think this is something you need, you might want to jump on it now!

I’ll start out by telling you what is included in the program:

The Vertical Explosion Manual is a software package which you can download to your personal computer and begin using IMMEDIATELY.  You do not have to book any kind of coaching or travel or anything like that, which is one of the things I absolutely LOVED about it.

The Vertical Explosion includes:

  • videos
  • workout charts
  • a comprehensive nutritional plan
  • lifetime access to a membership forum where you can get invaluable tips and tricks
  • free updates FOR LIFE
  • much much more!

Plus, now you can even get one-on-one coaching FOR FREE...which is something that was not offered when I first bought the program.

Now, inside the program you will find all the tools you could ever possibly need if you want to know how to jump higher.  It is based on scientific research and something known as plyometric training, which targets certain muscles in your legs, hips and thighs to increase your vertical and make you jump higher!

The unique nutritional plan does not have to be followed, but I highly recommend it as it will speed up the entire process and get you jumping higher in a much shorter period of time.  If you really don’t want to follow it, it is not necessary.

Now, the exercises in the manual are EASY to do and the videos make it basically impossible to fail.  Another thing I really love about it is that you aren’t simply doing one exercise 300 times a day or something like that.  Rather, you are doing an entire library of different exercises which each target specific areas to help you.

What Is Bad?

Honestly, not much. When I bought it I would have said the price, but now it has been cut in half from what I originally paid.  The only other minor complaint I have is that the videos aren’t perfect quality.  Don’t get me wrong, they are of very high quality, just not the high-definition 1080p quality most people are used to.  I understand why he does this though: if the videos were high-def, they would be HUGE (in terms of file size) and would take up a ridiculous amount of space on your hard drive!

What’s Good?

Honestly, pretty much everything else hahaha.  You can probably tell that I love this program!  I love it because it works. It is SO easy to follow and the exercises are so easy to do that you really will be jumping higher (much higher) in a very short period of time.  It is so good that it comes with a money-back guarantee AND they say they will pay you $100 if it does not work!!

If you are really serious about learning how to jump higher, you really need to get Vertical Explosion.  You can try it risk-free for 6 months and it is safe to do, cheap, and unbelievably effective!
